Hot Hot Heat
A week of virtually no sleep capped off with a show at The Mint to watch Darius Lux rock the crap out of the packed house. I put off doing a live performance myself and Darius made the sacrifice worth it turning out a killer show to close his summer concert series. Saturday morning was consumed by the taping for my appearance on Spending A Little Time With Poetry followed immediately by a turn at the Greek to see the Jazz Festival there from early afternoon until night. With little to go on sleepwise, I was glad that the night closed with Kenny G. It made leaving early so much easier on me.
Standouts earlier in the day were Angie Stone and Sheila E’s family bothing setting fire to the stage during their respective sets. All in all, the weekend was packed with a lot of heat that the thermostat isn’t fit to handle. Now, to prepare for my own show on Friday.
